The joint NCLUG/NCLTC Christmas tree is on display at Tinsel Town at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. The tree is near the walkway down to the ice rink, next to the Wake Med tree. The tree looks really nice and is getting a lot of attention from Tinsel Town visitors.
Tinsel Town is located within the Koka Booth Amphitheatre which is in Regency Park in Southern Cary.
For the first year in about 5 years, NCLTC will not have a train layout on display during the Holiday Season. We had contacted a couple local malls to see if they were interested in hosting our layout but none responded. NCLTC will join forces with NCLUG to decorate a tree at Tinsel Town.
The NCLTC web site has been updated with the latest Wordpress (2.2.2) release.
The NCLTC web site has been offline due to the database server crash at Northstar Computers. It is back up and running and I will try and resurrect all of the old content over the next couple of weeks.
I have resurected the NCLTC Modular Neighborhood Standard and added it to the new NCLTC site. This was originally created several years ago in preparation for a GATS show. It had fallen off the web when the NCLTC site moved from PostNuke to WordPress.
Next weekend NCLTC will have a small layout on display at LEGOPalooza at the Morehead Planatarium in Chapel Hill. LEGOPalooza is a 2 day event this year jointly run by NCLUG and Morehead Planatarium. LEGOPalooza runs from 12-4 on Saturday and Sunday, stop by and see some amazaing creations.
This morning I turned the trains off and the 2006 SHM Holiday Layout is officially over. The layout was supposed to run until the 20th of January but SHM Management decided to close Holiday Junction early.Thanks to everyone who helped contribute to the layout and to all of those who came out to see it.
NCLTC has a new domain – ncltc.us. Unfortunately ncltc.org is still unavailable, it has been registered for years but never used. Every year I try to grab it but it is always renewed. Anyway, a .us domain is more recognizable than a .cc domain although the .cc domain will continue to work for the forseeable future.
Details are still a bit sketchy but NCLTC has been asked to set up a layout at LEGOPalooza. LEGOPalooza is an annual (this will be the 3rd) event run by NCLUG and hosted by Moorehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill. This year LEGOPalooza expands from 1 day to 2 day (Feb. 3-4). More details to come soon.
